Today I wanted to explore working wet paint into wet gel. A simple underpainting was the start.
A layer of Clear Tar Gel was then applied over the whole piece. I took a small round brush, some fluid acrylics, and started adding paint lines and designs into the wet gel. It was like drawing into poured honey.
Once dried, it looked like this.

Oodles of fun with an interesting effect. More depth could be created with more layers, or a thicker layer of gel, but I wanted to be sure it would dry to clarity within a day.

4 more to go, the art supply store must love you. Have you spent a lot of time figuring outvwhat to do next or have people been giving you suggestions. ...I am expecting you toned this with a bang. (nothing like a little pressure). :)
WOW, I really like this one - the swirls and waves and texture are wonderful.
Very interesting texture. I've got some acrylic mediums but never use them; will have to give them a try!
(And then there were 4 . . . . ) #100 better be bodacious! (We out here in Blogland do not want to be disappointed after this beautiful bounty of bears!) (What can I say - my word verification began with a "b"!!)
What great texture. I have some tar gel but haven't known what to do with it. This bear is fantastic!
